Boo Boo and his owner were extricated by the Susquehanna Hose Company from an overturned vehicle on the side of the highway near mile marker 88.4 just before 3 a.m. Feb. 23 in Harford County.

"Crews quickly went to work stabilizing the vehicle and removing the windshield, with extrication complete a short time later," fire officials said.

The driver was then taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Trauma by Havre De Grace Ambulance Corps while Boo Boo, who was not injured, made new friends.

He was being cared for by Animal Control until the owner is released from the hospital.
